​Gather you funnest friends and come out to support our second annual Spirit-ed Grown-Up Spelling Bee. This year’s Sip & Spell Event offers a twist on traditional spelling competitions with team costume contests, lightening rounds, and a sudden death match set in a casual bar scene atmosphere to make for a Buzzworthy time! This fun and festive fundraiser will be held at Los Prados Community Center, 5150 Los Prados Circle, from 6 – 9pm.

The Nevada State Spelling Bee encourages the exploration of words and lifelong curiosity, with a focus on helping students set goals and dedicate time to sutdy while gaining experience in public speaking and poise under pressure. In 2024, approximately 85,000 Nevada students participated in the Nevada State Spelling Bee’s education program, affording 2 Nevada students participation in the 2024 Scripp's National Spelling Bee near Washington, DC. It’s our goal to raise funds to insure Nevada’s continued participation in this incredible program.

We are seeking local businesses and community leaders to sponsor their own teams. Other fun options include sponsoring a round of spelling words during the competition. The benefits of sponsorship are summarized in our Sponsorship Opportunities flyer. The Nevada State Spelling Bee works in partnership with The Public Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3). The Nevada State Bee relies entirely on grants and sponsorships.
